Digging through good ole youtube, I found this gem. A Modern Marvel special on the history of the motorcycle and the fight in between two giants Indian and Harley Davidson. Like everything, motorcycles were born out of necessity; they were much more affordable than a car. But the real beauty of Motorcycles is that they became more popular not because of necessity but rather because they were fun as hell. There is a lot to be said about a machine that grew in use and market size just because it was a blast to ride.
Talking of which check out the Y2K bike at the beginning of the documentary. The fastest production bike on earth, why? you may ask, well a Rolls-Royce helicopter turbine served as an engine. Now to make it even more interesting, no other but Hugo Moto's own Christian Travert was the head engineer and builder on the project. How cool is that?
